Course objectives
Data … Big Data … Data Analytics … These are buzz words, but data analytics is a wonderful tool for finance and accounting professionals. We will start by teaching you the basics and terminology , then we get to work learning real analytics tools.
Once you we get you comfortable with those basics and the tools needed. We will get rolling on a case study where you will get some real world experience analyzing data, creating a hypotheses, and testing assumptions. Finally, we finish by teaching you how to present your data the right way! When you finish the course you will be armed with some great data analytics skills to really understand data!
Some key things you’ll learn:
- What big data and data analytics mean
- Real definitions of data analytics and big data
- Foundational stat tools including (standard deviation, correlation)
- How to run (and understand) a regression analysis
- Great way(s) to summarize data with dashboards
